Blindside.net opened in 1998 as a foundation for Exodus Webzine, which ran as an online publisher of horror, fantasy, and science fiction short stories and poetry from November 1997 until 2000. This website has also served as the operating company for ProjectPulp.com (1999-2006).
Its first print appearance debuted in January 2002 with Wicked Hollow Magazine #1, a pocket-sized journal of horror fiction, poetry, and art that saw, from that $2 first issue alone, one story recommended for a 2002 Bram Stoker Award, one poem nominated for a 2002 Rhysling Award, one illustration reprinted in the esteemed art anthology Spectrum, Vol. 9, and three stories and three poems receiving honorable mentions in the 16th Annual Year's Best Fantasy & Horror.
As Wicked Hollow continues to persist, gaining a reputation as a respectable, consistent journal of dark literature, poetry, and art, Blindside Publishing enters its next phase.
Over the coming months and, yea, years, Blindside Publishing will seek to publish the finest in dark literature, embracing authors unafraid to estrange themselves in that unfriendly territory of fiction that blinds the lines between horror and general fiction, between the hideous and the beautiful.
Blindside Publishing is not a publisher of horror nor of general fiction. Blindside Publishing is something set magically between, a company that says never mind to the rules, turns its head to pigeon holes, to genres and categories.
